You are perhaps aware that the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) under the Food Safety and Standards Act 2006 has been constituted under the Chairmanship of Dr P I Suvrathan. Mr G Balachandhran, Additional Secretary (Health), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare is the Chief Executive Officer – FSSAI & Member Secretary – Food Authority.

We are happy to state that the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has been nominated as a member in the Industry category.

A copy of the constitution of the Authority is enclosed for your kind reference.
