1. Create awareness on how food regulatory regimes are evolving across the World as a result of globalisation. Share information, experiences and perspectives with experts from leading international regulatory agencies on the emerging scenario in international food laws with special reference to efforts related to development of international consensus.

  2. Share experiences of countries which have been highly successful in the global food trade on their imperatives for defining their own regulatory regime and how they have gone about integrating with the global food regulatory regime, and building appropriate capacities in their respective countries given these conditions.

  3. Share experiences with leading professionals -- both international and Indian - who are or have been highly involved in food businesses on changes in strategies, processes and systems brought about by them in their food supply chain and business management processes to satisfy the consumer and regulatory needs

  4. Bring to the fore learnings from such experiences for Indian regulatory authorities and food companies in different sectors, both in terms of opportunities and threats.

  5. Based on the deliberations at the Conference, develop a medium to long term Action Plan for defining the "guiding principles" and a "Road Map" for India for standards setting and implementation thereof with special reference to the role is to be played by different agencies for building capacity of different sectors of the food industry including the primary producers.
